Development Professionals Programme (7 months residential)
Centre for Languages BRAC University jointly with BRAC Training Division conducts Development Professionals Programme for BRAC Managers who are selected for overseas posting. The programme is focused in developing English Communication Skill, IT Skills, Business Communication and Study Skills. So far eighteen batches have successfully completed the course and two batches are in the process of completing Part A and Part B of the programme. Most of the participants of the DevPro programme have been posted abroad in BRAC projects to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Sudan, Uganda, Sierra Leon and Yemen.
BRAC Primary Schools
Currently CfL is involved with BRAC in training and developing materials for the BRAC Primary School teachers (previously known as non-formal primary schools) and the training has started in five districts with the target of training 6000 teachers in 3 years. Materials were developed and monitors were also trained in a Pilot Phase involving 180 teachers in 2010.
Medha Bikash
With BRAC Education Programme, during every semester break, CfL provides two week long English Language training for the rural students under the Medha Bikash Programme.
English Training for BRAC PACE Trainers (2 months)
CfL conducts English Language proficiency training along with methodology for its target group. Since 2007, 48 English Language and 42 other secondary subject trainers have received this training.
Aarong and BRAC Bank
CfL conducts English Language proficiency training for executives of these two institutions.
RRC with IGS
CfL is working with IGS in imparting Communicative English Training for Joint and Deputy Secretaries of the Government of Bangladesh under the Regulatory Reforms Commission.
Corporate
CfL has conducted workshops for the telephone industry, BRAC and BRAC Bank on presentation and professional etiquette. CfL has also conducted language courses for Pearl Fashion Institute and is currently delivering a 40-hour long Business Communication and Etiquette course for the upper management and executives of Navana.
Evening and other Language Courses
CfL has regularly been offering English Language Proficiency Development courses in the evenings and IELTS preparation course which is open to the public. CfL has also started offering short and long courses in Spanish, Chinese, French, and Bengali. Every year BRACU students win full scholarships to study in China after participating Chinese Language courses.
