The Certificate course in Broadcast and Cross-media Journalism is designed as a course of studies that will provide an academic and practical training to both practicing and potential journalists. The media industry in Bangladesh is witnessing an exponential growth and therefore this course will meet the growing need for trained and talented people. This course will be jointly offered by BRAC University and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute in collaboration with Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Construction, regardless of the type or scale of the project, can lead to cost and time overruns of nightmare proportions. Tight regulations only add to the complexity. At every stage, the process of design and building is one of ongoing negotiation, coordination, problem solving and financing. How well this process is handled can make the difference between a project that succeeds and one that fails. 

There is a rapid development of the banking sector in Bangladesh, resulting in more job opportunities in this sector. Although there is abundant supply of graduate and post graduate degree holders in different disciplines in the country, banks suffer from shortage of skilled man-power as there are no facilities for training these people specifically for banking jobs. The Diploma Program in Bank Management and IT has been designed to fulfill the needs of banks for trained manpower and the needs of master’s degree holders and four year undergraduate degree holders for jobs. The program design suits the training needs of Probationary Officers/Junior Executives in banks. Thus the Program will create job opportunities for unemployed graduates, training opportunities for Probationary Officers/Junior Executives and will enable banks to provide better services by trained personnel. The program consists of ten courses of 30 credits in total. Up to 15 credits can be transferred to MBA - Banking of BRAC University.

It is well known that Bangladesh is a highly disaster-prone country and particularly in this context of widespread poverty, disasters often assume great proportions; both risk and vulnerability to various disasters is extensive. Some disasters, such as floods and drought, are annual and cause national loss at a regular frequency. Others, such as cyclones and earthquakes, are waiting in the offing, and it is not hard to imagine the destruction that could occur in a severe earthquake in the rapidly growing and densely populated urban areas. There is thus an important need for disaster management in this context where disasters are a part of life.

Therefore, the postgraduate programs on Disaster Management comprising of certificate, diploma and master's degree programs are being conducted at BRAC University. It runs as a semi-autonomous program within BRAC University with a link under the Department of Architecture. The certificate is a 1-semester course; on completion of another semester a diploma is obtained. There is also the option of obtaining a master's degree by completing a dissertation in an additional 1-2 semesters.
