Academic excellence is recognized in a number of ways at BRAC University , including through scholarships and awards.
Dean's List & VC's List
Based on semester GPA , students are placed on Dean's List &
VC's List, published during appropriate semester, is recognition of an
undergraduate's outstanding academic performance that particular semester.
To be eligible for Dean's List & VC's List certificate , students must meet the following requirements:
- Undergraduate students must have grades, exclusive of Pass/Fail and Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory, in a total of 12 or more credits and must not have any grade of F ,W or
I
- For RS (Residential Semester ) a total of 9 or more credits
- Undergraduate students must meet the minimum GPA of 3.7 and above
- No Retake or Repeat
Academic Distinction
BU awards three types of academic honors at graduation . These Distinction honors, based on the cumulative grade point average (CGPA), are awarded in three grades:
- Distinction : Awarded to candidates whose CGPA is between 3.50 to 3.64
- High Distinction : Awarded to candidates whose CGPA is between 3.65 to 3.79
- Highest Distinction: Awarded to candidates whose CGPA is 3.80 or higher
Chancellor's Gold medal and Vice
Chancellor's Gold medal
Chancellor's Gold Medal and Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal, based on the cumulative grade point average (CGPA), realize for academic excellence achieved over the duration of an entire undergraduate and postgraduate career. Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 3.65 in both the cases.
Chancellor's Gold Medal : One candidate among all Undergraduate programs with highest CGPA and One candidate among all Postgraduate programs with highest CGPA is awarded with
Chancellor's Gold Medal.
Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal : One candidate from each Undergraduate programs with highest CGPA and One candidate from each Postgraduate programs with highest CGPA is awarded with Vice
Chancellor's Gold Medal.
