Health Seeking Behavior of Disabled People Attending a Specialized Rehabilitation Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Ilias Mahmud
Abstract
According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 10% of the total population of Bangladesh suffers from some sort of disability. Our Government is a signatory of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons and has declared full participation and equality for disabled people. But the needs of disabled people are overlooked by all mainstream services including health. Therefore, they need to largely depend on traditional healers and NGOs for more special needs.
