Asiful Haidar Chowdhury has been working as the Data Management and Analysis Specialist at the James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. He leads the data management and analysis team of capacity building package of JPGSPH consortium with support from the Global Fund through Save the Children (USA), Bangladesh. He has 10 years of working experience in the field of research specifically in the areas of access to sexual and reproductive health information and services, STI, HIV and AIDS, blood supply and transfusion services, medical MR, capacity building of organizations delivering services to most at risk populations implementation of standard operating procedures for services to people living with HIV and AIDS etc. He has experience of working with the target groups namely adolescents, male youth etc. He has worked in several research organizations namely JPGSPH, BRAC University, Population Council, ICDDR, B, Transparency International of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Institute of Research for Promotion of Essential Reproductive Health and Technologies etc. He has a master's degree in statistics from Dhaka University and completed his thesis in Demography. He is skilled and experienced in developing technical proposal of research study on several topics including related to medical MR, access to SRH information and services for male youth, developing research instruments such as questionnaire, guideline, checklist, training of data collectors, carrying out supervision and monitoring of data collection and data management, implementing, managing and monitoring intervention activities, carrying out univariate, bivariate and multivariate data analysis and report writing, assisting for making presentation and dissemination of research study findings and making evidence based policy advocacy, assisting in organizing meeting, conference, workshop, seminar, training and preparing meeting minutes, proceedings of conference, workshop, training reports. He has received several training on health system, proposal development, research instrument development, management information system, monitoring and evaluation, data management and analysis software. He has experience of working for developing national M & E framework and operational plan as well as national strategic plan for HIV and AIDS for 2011-15. |
